I took my photos at Horseneck Beach. My favorite photo is the first photo with the lobster traps. I like this photo because it's a simple photo, but it also has interesting lines and shapes, which enhance the photo itself. The lobster traps are the subject of the photo, but I wanted to create a more interesting picture by capturing the subject at a different angle, and not having it be the in the center of the photo. I took this picture by standing on the dock and getting the closer subject/foreground (lobster pots), the middle ground (water) and background (land in the distance). My photo is horizontal and my point of view is straight on, looking out at the ocean. I tried to incorporate line, shape and pattern to add visual interest to the shot. The lobster pots are a good example of shape and pattern, while the dock poles add lines as well as the lines and movement of the water, which help to create a more interesting photo. The lighting and color of the sky in this photo, to me, makes the shot seem calm. The gray sky and water, added with the snow makes the picture seem very serene and peaceful.
